The basis is that a touch of xenophobia lead some to hold the opinion that if you aren't a Sheffield fan, you opinion on sheffield holds little weight. I've seen Manchester, Nottingham and Cardiff fans all receive the same.

People also don't like blunt points, it unsettles them, so would you prefer folk pussyfoot around the issue?

Lets look at this thread again... The title reads "Who got there <sic> season ticket..."

Infact the answer is "No one", and the response given by some, including me, is the astonishment that a simple receipt can cause such a hoo-ha. Alongside, of course, the thread title being quite misleading.

Then, all of a sudden, the poor souls in residence take out the tissues for, once again, their integrity has been dented by what was a straight forward, if somewhat blunt, opinion.

I got my receipt and a call from the Steelers Office thanking me for once again purchasing a season ticket.

I know that might not seem much, but I thought it was quite a nice touch. Having suffered the Norton Lea years when the clubs customer relations stank the place out it makes a pleasant change to have management who seem to appreciate their customers.

The giants have undergone a similar change last season, vastly improved communication, video website content, live online streaming of games (something I'm personally delighted with), Kelman was personally on the phone to those folk who hadn't renewed their season ticket from last season to gain feedback and sort out any option to entice those lapse STH's back for another season.

Good to see other clubs following suit.

My oldman (Bob M) got a call from Dave Simms a few weeks back asking why he hadn't renewed his season ticket. It was thesame situation, just asking for any feedback and to see if their was anything he could do for him. I personally thought it was a nice touch and my oldman is more than likely renewing his season ticket.
