A good read and for once Bob not hiding behind legal jargon and good to see him accept his responsibilities. Fair play!

MAGNA is an ex steel foundry just off the M!.

I think that is pretty awesome TBH IF it comes off. The Steelers playing in a Steel works!

The main hall is HUGE and there are dodgems at one end, or at least there were. Loads of potential, massive if it happens. The guy I spoke to there was absoloutely mad with excitment about it on the phone!

The Magna thing doesn't surprise me given the strong links with Rotherham MBC who seem very keen on getting the Steelers in the borough.

An interesting read thanks for that. Nemesis, what was your gut feeling after speaking to Bob? Often how people say things can be different to how people read their words when the reader is reading through tinted glasses. I get the feeling you were impressed by what he had to say?

Thanks for that Nem, it's certainly made me feel a little bit more confident for the future.

Good to read that the final 2 signings (well 1 signing now) are going to be top end players and that Tait and Phillips seem to be a little more settled now......Hopefully Mr Simon will convince them we have a bright future.

The bits of the article I was most concerned about were:

With hindsight we should have left the money were it was, allowed it to disappear in to SYIHC and told those people that they had lost their money and their season ticket and that they would have to pay again or go after the previous owner for their money.

Although it was a problem inherited by Bob, I’m surprised on reflection he would have made season ticket holders pay again. If that had happened I suspect many would have walked away and he’d have been left without some of the most loyal supporters

PHN: What is the relationship currently like with the arena?

Phillips: It's not great at the moment because the Elite League and the arena have been liaising, we went in to sign the agreement recently but they are putting it off for the moment, they are aware of a possible sale and don't want to contract somebody who is not the owner of the club; I can understand that so we are putting it off for the moment.

Is this a potential problem down the line, possibly relating to a bond?

It was good he was so open about the finances, many of the things he discussed relate to the Chinese Whispers that have been circulating, particularly with regards to the finance of the housing in Chesterfield.

The new facility at the Magna is also interesting....Is there still talk of taking the tram out there?

Does Magna still have the earth, air, water and fire zones inside?

I went many years ago after it opened as a Millenium Project....The place is huge.

It could be a mini O2 arena.

Magna still has all the zones inside. Don't think the tram link is going to happen. Transport links aren't amazing, but probably slightly better than Rother Valley at present.

I am told the seating at MAGNA could be made to be flexible.
2000 on a wet Wednesday and then 8000 for a Panthers Saturday.

I stress the word COULD as I assume this will be a financial decision.

The rolling Mill part where the ice would be is HUGE! And they did have dodgems and rides at one end I don't know if they still do.

I think this could be pretty bloody awesome TBH, the Steelers playing in a foundry! How cool is that?
